Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for the following reason:
When you sign up for updates: South West Life Sciences will collect your data using our Sign Up Form available on the South West Life Sciences website. All data is stored on our marketing automation platform.

Distribute newsletters about our activities if you sign up for updates.
Gather a deeper understanding of who our users are for monitoring purposes, including geographical location, industry representation and equality, diversity and inclusion.

3.1 Data Protection Legislation
The University is the data controller for your personal data that it collects. As your data controller the University has notified its activities to the Office of the Information Commissioner as required under the GDPR and is listed in the Public Register of Data Controllers. Personal information will only be collected and/or processed by the University in accordance with the GDPR.

- Except as set out in this policy or as required by law, your personal data will not be provided to any third party without your prior consent.
- Except as set out in this policy, the information you provide to us will be held on our servers and computers in the UK. - Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing your information is (a) Consent: Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by clicking unsubscribe or by contacting southwest-lifesciences@bristol.ac.uk.
- We will use the details we collect to keep you informed about our news. We use Mailchimp to send and receive emails (including newsletters). By submitting your information, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to Mailchimp for processing. - We will keep your contact details on our mailing list until you unsubscribe. You have the right to have inaccurate data corrected. Please let us know if your data is inaccurate by emailing southwest-lifesciences@bristol.ac.uk.
- We will not share your data with anyone outside of South West Life Sciences and its governing bodies. When submitting your details to South West Life Sciences (such as your email address), you’re accepting that any of the programme partners can get in touch about relevant delivery mechanisms or support on behalf of the hub. 3.4 Automatic information
• We may use and analyse the information we collect so that we can manage and improve the South West Life Sciences website. Demographic and statistical information about user behaviour may be collected and used to analyse the popularity and effectiveness of the website. Any disclosure of this information will be in aggregate form and will not identify individual users.
• The University also uses services from Google on this application to measure and analyse visitor information. These services are Google Analytics and Firebase.
• South West Life Sciences will not (nor will it allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tools to track or collect personally identifiable information of visitors to this website. South West Life Sciences will not associate any data gathered with any personally identifying information from any source as part of our use of the statistical analytics tools.
